This camera system has a few quirks that I feel others could share to help all concerned. I'll list a few but please join in and add any that you've noticed. 1. Cable release will set off shutter even with the shutter lock engaged. 2. Battery warning light will not light long before battery is actually dead. 3. With a nearly dead battery, I've had the shutter activate when I only touched the mirror lock button. 4. Under certain lighting conditions, the use of an eyecup is essential for correct exposure. Light entering the finder from the rear(on the TTL type)will affect the meter reading. 5. The meter will sometimes not work when slight amounts of dust or oils from the skin get on the Aluminum lens mount interface. 6. The meter will not function if one of the TTL mounting pins pops loose. This has happened to me twice in ten years................ SR

A weakness that I've just noticed concerns the top plate of the body. With a cable release screwed into the shutter button, I bumped the top of the camera, hitting the cable release stem. This caused the top plate to bend so that the shutter button was no longer perpendicular to the top plate. So, I bent it back and it's now like new. The top plate is very thin and will bend! Be careful.

Perhaps not a quirk but a limitation of the design (is there a difference?), when changing back to the TTL prism after using a non-metered prism, one must dismount and and remount the lens to engage the meter linkage again. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one, I currently own only the TTL prism and it hasn't been an issue.
