Adoption of CLIK media by camera maufacturersgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread |
Does anyone have any information about manufacturer's plans to incorporate the Iomega CLIK technology into new camera designs or to retrofit these storage devices to current cameras? This is a 40 megabyte removable media device designed for use with handheld components like PCS devices and digital cameras. If the technology is close at hand I'd put off my purchase of a camera.
Any info?

Iomega has touted several relationships with digital camera mfrs. I can't recall the list I saw in a press release, but (think I) remember noting that Kodak was among them. That said, I have heard nothing official or unofficial from any manufacturer indicating near-term (eg, 6 month) plans to include CLIK.Keep in mind that it typically takes mfrs (at least) 18 months to bring a product from concept to production. My guess is you won't see CLIK in a camera until next spring. (But I've been wrong before! :-)
