I'm planning to go to the Needles the first or second week of May. Will the road from Highway 190 be clear? I heard it didn't open until the end of May last year. I would also appreciate any gearand/or Route recommendations.

the needles still have a ton of snow-i talked to patrick paul about the road and he was not optimistic of the road being open before the end of may. call turtle mountain sports in visalia or bigfoot mountaineering in bakersfield for any further beta. besto' luck. ian
