Anyone going to see the movie on April 14? {86th anniversary}

A bunch of people from my office are planning to see the movie (again) on April 14; sort of as a memorial. Anyone else have similar plans?

Yes, I will, too. Either on the 14th or the 15th.

Our plan is to see the 11:00 p.m. show on the 14th, so the movie should just be finishing at 2:20 a.m. on the 15th. I know that sounds pretty obsessive but we're hooked.

What a wonderful idea! Unfortunately, Tuesday is the only day of the week that I can't possibly make it out to the movies. I can't think of a more appropriate time to see it. Cheers to all of you who are going that night.

Two questions: what is the timeline of the voyage? (when did it leave harbor, when did it stop in Cherborg, etc.)

What is the time difference between West coast time and the timezone the Titanic sank in.

I'm in Honolulu, so if my calculations are correct, I believe that the time off of Newfoundland is 6.5 hours ahead of us. So the actual time of the sinking will have passed 10 minutes before the movie starts (yes I figured this all out...) but unfortunately I can't get to see the movie any earlier.

I wish I could, but thanks to a fat, worthless pig of a tenant who just moved, I get to spend to-night scrubbing walls and cleaning carpet. Denise--you are a fat, no-good, lazy PIG! (Besides-this would be my fifth viewing, and for me that is getting excessive!)

claude monet--I cannot help it if I am calorically challenged. Sorry that I ruined to-night for you!! ps. I want my security deposit back, and have you looked in the mirror lately?

I went to see the movie on the 14th and that night, at 2:20, I was out swimming in the freezing cold pool just to feel what they felt.

I'm behind the times here...just found out about this site from a friend.

Myself and two friends of mine couldn't decide whether to go on the 14th or the 15th, so we all took the day off on the 15th so we could catch the midnight showing and observe both historical dates. Before we left for the theatre, at around 11:30pm we drank a toast in memory of the dead in crystal wine glasses from the turn of the century which were passed down to me over the generations. I have studied the tragedy of the Titanic for many years, but I was never so impacted by the reality than on that night.
