I just can't stop. Does anyone have beta on the Hurricane mountain works hand drills? I've heard that they put everything else to shame, due to the collet system. Does anyone have any info/opinions? If not on these tell me why you like YOUR hand drill. I've used a few different kinds, so let's hear it. Thanks.

The Hurricane drills do put everything else to shame. The bits attach to the drill just like a regular drill, so set up and removal is easy. With any other drill, the bit is basically wedged in to the handle, making them tough to remove. Plus when the bits finally do come out, they come out with such force that they are likely to be dropped. In other words, the Hurricane drills rock.

Well to answer my own question, for anyone else who is wondering, the Hurricane drill holders kick more ass than a three legged man in an ass kicking contest! I recently put up a slab route in little cottonwood with a friend (ground up) and the drill was sweet! Once you tighten down the collete, that's it! Only once! I also used the Pika drills that are modified for hand drilling, and I reccomend them highly! They really chew it up! Hand drilling a 3 inch, 3/8 inch hole was never so much "fun"!!!!

I have a Hurricane Mountain Works drill holder and have used it to replace bad and broken bolts. I really like it since it comes with a sling to attach to your hand. Another reason I like to this drill holder is it takes SDS bits, which are available in most hardware stores and do not have to be modified to be used. To use the Fish drill holder, you must either purchase the special bits from Fish or modify regular drill bits to fit the holder (You mean to tell me every big wall climber does not carry a power grinder and generator in their trunk?) This is especially important if you are travelling to distant walls and crags.
