Looking for any info or photos of the Marietta & North Georgia, a narrow gauge railroad that was taken over by the L&N and is now a shortline operated by the Georgia Northeastern.

There is a short but quite detailed history of the M&NG in American Narrow Gauge Railroads / by George W. Hilton / Stanford University Press, Stanford 1990. Best regards, Christian Halpaap

There was an article in TRAINS many years ago, and Dick Hillman and I found some additional material in the Glover archives from the NG days when Glovers was the shops and reciever.Dave

I have seen at least one photo of an M&NG steamer in a book. My memory tells me the book was about the locomotives of the Southern Rwy., but it has been nearly 20 years and my memory on this point could well be faulty. As I recall, the locomotive was a ten-wheeler and may have eventually ended up on the Atlantic & Danville in Virginia. I don't recall where I saw the book, but you might want to check the library collection at the Southeastern RR Museum in Duluth, GA.Please let me know what you find.
Best Regards, Glenn Christensen
