Does anyone else keep getting AOL server error messages when they ask or answer a question, or when just plain trying to navigate around in this forum? I just cleaned out my cache, so it can't be that. If you have a suggestion, please share it in the most generic, second-grade fashion you can muster. I am beyond stupid when it comes to computers...thanks!

What does "clean out the cache" mean? I probably have to do it! I sometimes get that AOL server thing too.

Hi GAJ: I get this sometimes also and I think Tom knows about it. I believe it has something to do with his server but I could be wrong. Usually when I get this I hit the reload and it clears it up but not always.I get it even though I don't use AOL!

Peter, I don't use AOL, either. Grrrrr.

BobG...I'll have to ask my roommate what exactly that means and how it's done. I sorta fibbed when I said that I cleaned it out (I was trying to save time). Kelly (from the P.A.T.H. site) may be able to help you, though. She's the one who originally told me to try it when I was having trouble moving around there.

The cache files store some information about visited sites so that when you want to visit them again, it's much faster, as some stuff is downlowded from your computer and not from the remote server. Cleaning the cache helps only increasing the free space on your drive. I clean my cache file only when it gets too big. But there is a problem with the server and sometimes when I come here to the Shack there are error messages. I have to try to reload the page or check in later.
