Does your organazation regularly monitor breeders in your association. I ask this because I would like to get a Maine Coon and the breeder I want to get a cat from is far from me so I would be getting a kitten without being able to go see what I am getting. The breeder is in MCBFA.

MCBFA Breeder Members sign a Code of Ethics by which they promise to abide. There is a Complaints Committee in place whereby a breeder found to be violating the Code of Ethics may have his membership revoked.

The best way to find out about a breeder at a distance from you is to ask for photos of the cattery, a reference from their vet and other breeders who know them, and other people who have bought cats from them.
