We have recently purchased a Maine coon, and are unclear about what we should use to bathe her. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Will you be showing your cat, or just doing an occasional bath, to make her look her best?

There is an excellant artical on bathing Maine Coon cats for show, by a Maine Coon breeder, at - http://www.tica.org/laura1.htm

If you aren't 'going to the show', you can modify this, and just do a single bath. The information on getting the grease out of the cats tail will help avoid the skin problems some cats get when there is a build up of oils on the tail.

I use a product called efa HyLyt. It doesn't have any detergents, soap free and it is easy to rinse out. It is also concentrated. I bathe my MC about every 6 weeks. Sometimes I just was his tail and rear end.
