I need to compare printed documents to confirm they were printed from the same master copy and identical format. Are there scanner/software combinations for this purpose?

Hmm - very tricky, most of the trickiness in the software. You'd want a flatbed scanner, to avoid problems with subject/scan head transport and registration. The key would be to be able to automatically align the two documents perfectly, both in translation and rotation. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of anything out there that presently does this!
