Hi guys. I've written the metaphors section and will post it before our meeting tonight. Basically, it looks like this:

I. Street of doorways as a metaphor for web page hacking II. Direct marketing as a metaphor for spam email III. Examination of metaphors in general A. Why they are good, and why they are bad B. Why it is better to break down metaphors to a conceptual level IV. Important concepts A. Containers B. Public/Private C. Signalling D. Self-determination

My question is, are there other major concepts that I should be hitting on? I'm already at length, and I don't want to infringe on Lauren's definitions section, but if there's something major, please let me know.

Now I'm definitely confused.

I thought we had decided that any of these "metaphors" (like the street of doorways or the direct marketing) was a suboptimal idea because it didn't apply in a meaningful way. I realize the similarities and understand why they might be included, but could we stress the imperfection of any "realspace" analogy?
