Time exposure - Cool Pix 900greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread |
I have tried to do time exposures with the Cool Pix 900 but they are always far too dark to see anything. I photograph lighted buildings at night with very dark backgrounds. Any suggestions? Many Thanks, Don

don,I would think that you would just shorten the exposure time. since the camera has instant preview, i'm not sure why you haven't varied the times already and tailered the time and exposure to preference. ron

It can't expose long enough for what you want. If you're on a tripod, try multiple exposures and postprocessing. But the real answer is that CCDs are sensitive to heat as well as light, so they're too noisy for "bulb" exposures (in commercial applications they are cryogenically cooled).
