i exaggerate here, but please follow these guidelines when writing so that the paper will be easier to edit...thanks!

-passive tense is bad. it should not be used much. -don't use contractions. -avoid parenthetical references (unless you feel they are really appropriate). -we should avoid using first and second person as much as possible. -try not to write extremely lengthy sentences, with lots of misplaced commas, and phrases, that take about ten lines, and read like legal jargon, even when written by mit students. -this lacks a subject. please include a noun after the word 'this.' -follow michelle's citation rules. (*MH-1, how to cite*) -consistent use of capitals and words: Internet, cyberspace, real space, World Wide Web
