these days many people are worried about the oncoming century/millenium. they think the Second Coming is imminent at year 2000. but the year 2000 is already come and gone: the Oxford Companion to the Bible in the article JESUS CHRIST says: "FACTUAL DATA IN THESE COMMON ITEMS INCLUDE: THE DATE OF JESUS' BIRTH IN THE LAST YEARS OF THE REIGN OF HEROD THE GREAT (DIED 4 BCE)" if Herod died in the year 4 BC and Jesus was two years old when the Magi visited Herod then Jesus was born 6 or at least 4 years before what we consider to be year ONE. SO THE YEAR 2000 IS WELL PAST AND GONE !!!!!!!

To me this sounds like telling someone that a train is comming right at them at 60 mph. After a brief moment they respond that they do not think that it is traveling at any more than 55 mph! Then they say if you will give me a minute, I can measure the speed by counting the time it takes to get here and then measuring the distance covered in that time. But they never move off the tracks and are run over by the train while counting!

The Gospel tells us "repent the kingdom of God is at hand" Believe in Christ, receive Baptism or go to Confession if you are already Baptized and be in a state of Sanctifying Grace always. Then it does not matter if this is 1999 of 2002!

josi garcma y los demas, continuando con mi investigacisn acerca de la fecha del nacimiento de Jeszs encontri lo siguiente:

Dionisio el Exiguo en el aqo 525 o 526 de nuestra era quiso seqalar con exactitud el aqo del nacimiento de Cristo y para ello recurris al calendario romano. Segzn il esto ocurris en el aqo 752 de la fundacisn de Roma y dijo que iste correspondia al aqo UNO de la era cristiana. Pero por la historia universal sabemos que Herodes el Grande muris en 748 de la fundacisn de Roma. Esto corresponde al aqo CUATRO antes de Cristo. Entonces Jeszs tenma al menos cuatro aqos cuando Herodes muris. Pero si recordamos que cuando los magos visitaron a Herodes le dijeron que habman visto la estrella hacma dos aqos, entonces Jeszs nacis probablemente en el aqo SEIS antes de nuestra era. Por consiguiente llevamos 4 s 6 aqos de retraso y ahora estamos en el 2003 o el 2005.
