I have had my new kitten for two weeks and within that time he has developed, what my vet has diagnosed as feline acne. He gave me a shampoo to bathe my kittys chin with.(thats where it is only) Is there anything else I should be doing to help him? Can a change in diet bring this on? I changed his food and he has be having soft stool as well.

I've had experience with feline acne, altho not with a MC. Be sure to use steel bowls, never plastic, that will not harbor bacteria. Keep the chin clean with hydrogen peroxide. You can pop the pimple if it fills up a lot but be sure to treat with peroxide.

My two Maine Coons are 9 yrs. old and they have had small bouts with acne since they were very young. I clean their chins with a fine metal comb to remove dried food and other debris, then wipe with peroxide after breaking the lesion. I haven't found a cure all for this problem, even with meticulous cleaning.
