I presume you are getting error 17903 - MAPI login failure. Have you checked just to see if the account that is being used by xp_sendmail can login to your mail application and send an email normally on the server? This error may be merely a permissions issue with Exchange in that the 'dummy' SQL mail account does not have an NT account that has permissions to log on to the server.

If your error is different, or the above advice does not help, try out the Exchange Server troubleshooting advice in Q153159 at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q153/1/59.asp. If this still does not work, please post a new question with the details on what you have done and the error message and number that you are receiving.
