I have an original HP Photo Smart camera. With it came a 2MB memory card. I want to obtain a larger memory card, for example the 4MB kind. OR... (because they are rather difficult to obtain) a card with higher capacity from another brand. Is this possible? Can I use other cards?

AFAIK, all "CompactFlash" cards are compatible with each other, without regard to size, etc. Your HP camera uses CF cards, so any other CF card should be fine. Us SmartMedia folks have more to pay attention to though, what with voltage (5v or 3.3v) and size (many cameras don't support the newer 16MB cards).
