I have two questions actually. I am doing a project for my maintenance and support class so I need to know when the first digital camera was introduced, who made it and also what the cost was.

I am also looking into buying one but I only have like a maximum of $400 so I need advice as to which brand to buy. I don't want to spend that kind of money on a piece of junk.

There may have been others, but I *think* the first digital camera was the Kodak DCS-1, introduced in ~1991. I don't know the original price, but it was definitely over $20K, I think maybe as high as $40,00
