Hi all, I have lost several clients due to this one dr. he says that doulas are not a benefit to the patients and he will not deliever for a woman with a doula. I'm sure he has had a run in with another "doula". I have presented the dona position paper to him and his partner advertises my busniess in their office. But he will not change his view. He is from the old school, and sees nothing except science. Any suggestions? I'm losing a lot of money because of him.

Sounds messy. Personally, I'm not sure that I would want to support those poor couples/moms with this unsupportive careprovider. Perhaps, he'll soften up after he hears good stories from his partner about the couples you have supported.

Very tuff call I guess if I were in that situation I would simply cut my losses and continue working with the doctors who are more accepting of doula's. At least if he's from the old school he probably won't be in practice much longer!:)
