I am writing a briefing - the subject is Vatican II. I cannot seem to find much of anything on the web on the history of Vatican II - just the documents...I, of course!, need this today!Is there any info on the history on the web???? When it convened, mission, etc.

antepreparatory phase began May 2, 1959. A Comission is created. presided by Card. Tardini. Work of Comission ended May 1, 1960.

Preparatory phase began June5, 1960. - 10 Comissions , two Secretariates and a Central Comission created on NOv 14, 1960. - They worked until June 11, 1962 . Elaborated 72 schemes.

FIRST SESSION: October 11 - Dec 12, 1962 SECOND SESSION: October 11- DEc 4, 1963 THIRD SESSION: Sept 14 - Nov 21, 1964 FOURTH SESSION: Sept 14 - Dec 8, 1965

Closed by Pope Paul VI on Dec 8, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, 1965, with the Apostolic Brief: IN SPIRITU SANCTO.
