Dear Enrique, On May 24, 1844, the first telegraph message was sent from Anne Ellsworth that said "What hath God wrought" and yes it is from Numbers 23:23. Ellen

Dear Ellen, thank you for your contribution. Little by little i'll get the complete answer to my questions. That just goes to show that when people get together, we learn not only about religious ma- tters, but also about a lot of other subjects. Again, thanks.Enrique

Dear Enrique, To clarify things------the original message was written by Anne Ellsworth, the dughter of one of Morse's friends, but sent by Samuel F. B. Morse to his assistant, Albert Vail, at he Mont Clair depot in Baltimore, Maryland. Ellen
