New to the TRV 900. Will be getting one soon. Let me know what the difference if between editing with a PC vs. GV-D900...Is this a stupid question...since i don't really know what the function of a GV-D900 really is...Do i need one if I have a Pentium- for mainly editing reasons?

You always can do more with a computer and the right software. I use Digital Origins editDV software and the built in firewire on my B&W G3 and the results are great and the setup was a snape.

However, you may want an edit deck for the sole purpose to save the wear and tear on your 900 (same one I have).
