My poor Ari [Ariadne -- a tricolor female "M/C" tabby] came to live with me when she was about 10 months. Until then she had spent her whole life with her parents and a few siblings, and she was now all alone -- when I went to the office, the grocery store, the etc., etc., etc. I love her dearly, and show it. And she shows it as well. She's as affectionate as any pet I've ever had. HOWEVER:She ALWAYS poops on the dining room floor! And has since she first came to live with me.
Her food is in the kitchen [where I also eat, except when I have company -- and she likes to come eat at the same time I'm there, offering comments on her and my meals]. Her sandbox is no more than twenty feet away, down the hall, inside the bathroom door, and she knows where it is, for she sits right by it when I'm in the shower, but she will not use it.
I know she's lonely, but I cannot take the responsibility of another cat. WHAT CAN I DO?
The breeders will take her back, but I love her too much for that!
Can anyone please help ...

Hello Charles and Ari - You sound happy together in many ways, but for-the separation anxiety. 1st- It seems you don't want to hear this Charles, but - Fact- 2 cats are no more trouble than 1 and 2xs the love and fun! Consider this seriously. 2nd (in the mean time)- Bach Flower Remedies are flower essence remedies that act similarly to Homeopathics.Benign, but often effective. Take a few drops of these 2 remedies and add to water daily, one drop in food - Rescue Remedy + Walnut. Rescue is a good calming remedy and Walnut for separation.Good Luck to you both and may your family grow just a little bit bigger & happier. From Shel and family - Riley, Emily & Taffi.
