Are male cats more loving than female cats?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Maine Coon Cats : One Thread |
I have heard so many different stories but actually believe myself it all depends on the individual cat or kitten. I think every animal is unique. I would like your thoughts on this,as we are in the market to buy a MC kitten soon and some added information might help :) Thanks.Irene

I think the male cats are way more loving:) I'm not a breeder just a cat lover.

When I went to pick out our MC, I wanted a male (hubby likes BIG animals) - but our PJ was the only one of the group that climbed on me for an investigation. Then she curled up in my lap and went to sleep! The male (her brother) took one look at my shoes and walked away. So I got PJ. She is very loving - she is a "right with you" kind of cat. Cries very loudly if my husband or I exit the room with out each other and her. She sleeps with us and always wants to sleep in a lap when we are watching TV. If male cats are more affectionate, then I can't imagine how it would be!

Hi, I do not own a MC, but do have 7 purebred cats, 3 siamese, 3 tonkinese, and 1 burmese. I have 4 males and 3 females and I definately have to say that my males are more loving than my females. The females can be loving, but tend to be more dominating and aggressive than my males. The males are just laid back love bugs. Hope this helps. Best wishes....

I have a male mc about 9 years old and every nite when I come home he stands on his hind legs with the front onesn in the air and he wants a hug. He also sleeps with me every nite sits on my lap all the time. I would have to say that male cats give more affection...
