here's an interesting question: as part of a research project I'm working on, I am interested in talking with climbers who were climbing in joshua tree in the 1960s and 70s. If you are such a climber, or if you know names of folks I should be tracking down, please let me know. Thanks very much.

I hope I don't qualify as an "old-timer", but I did learn to climb at JT in 1977. Back then the current guidebook was written by John Wolfe and Bob Dominick. Have you contaced these two yet? Bob was the one who taught me to climb although I haven't spoken to him in ages. Let me know if you find his address!

I have a bunch of friends out climbing in J-Tree now with Alan Jolley, an AMGA and USMGA guide who lives out there. I'm not sure how long he's been living out there but he'd sure as hell know who to talk to.
