I'm am new to this whole digital photography field. I am looking to build an online library with company prospectuses and pamphlets. I'm not sure what kind of background would be the best to keep the info legible (black posterboard, maybe?). I was just looking for suggestions as to how to set this whole process (background, lighting, etc.) up to make it the easiest for me, but still have a professional look. Thank you.

A scanner may be the best tool, if you're dealing with printed material - you'll have more control over resolution (and much higher resolution when you need it), not to mention a cheaper tool. If you're shooting printed matter with a digicam, a darker background may help some, or use the exposure compensation on the camera - the exposure system will want to make the white pages a middle-gray. Any other suggestions out there?
