I haven't bee to the valley since 1994 and We're planning on doing an El Cap route. We'll be spending a few days on the climb and I was wondering what the parking situation was. During my previous trips, we simply parked on the side of the road at the base of El Cap. What's the story now? We only have 6 1/2 days in the valley and our climb will probably be 5 days, car-to-car. So if it is at all possible, we will be parking at the base unless there is close to a 100% chance of getting the car towed/impounded.

The parking situation hasn't changed. I haven't heard of any cars being towed. Good luck on whatever route you do.
