Being that this is my first live Ajax match (and that I don't speak Dutch) I'm not familiar with the words to a lot of the songs I hear at Ajax matches. I don't know who else is in the same boat as me, but I would love to be able to get up and sing when the team is playing. So should we learn some of the songs??? How does the F-side decide what song to sing and when anyway??

I am in the same boat as you. I am looking forward to singing my heart out to support the team, but I also don't know any of the songs. I know "You'll Never Walk Alone" but then again (showing my ignorance) does anyone sing this out side of Liverpool?

Hi! I'm from Holland, and I can tell you something about English songs that are sung by the Ajax supporters. In 1992 after the away game semi-final of the UEFA cup against Genoa Ajax fans started to sing the song We Are The Champions, by Queen. Since then this has become a bit of an anthem for Ajax fans, it's always sung at European matches. We also sing You'll Never Walk Alone a lot. There are a LOT more...

Marc----Give us some more! I know a bit of Dutch...we have a CD we bought when we were in Holland....."Ik heb u lief mijn Nederland" from WC '94...(I love you my holland") It says it has "de 16 Grootste Stadion Hits". But alas, it has more songs more for "Oranje" then anything else....but it does have "you never walk alone on it" and even an "Ole" medley (I don't think we can butcher that!)....perhaps we can practice before the game! Boy will we sound great! :)

It don't think it would be of any use to give you the lyrics of some Dutch songs, because you wouldn't be able to sing them anyway. So I think it's the best that you sing the English based Ajax-songs like: You'll Never Walk Alone, Que Sera Sera, We Are The Champions and maybe you could sing: Joden, Joden! Or else you could make up your own songs about the new players like Laudrup and Winter and Verlaat or so.
