Need some help on memory lane. Didn't the Vivitar 285 flash include varipower in it's original package where you have to buy an optional module for today's Vivitar 285HV?

Today's 285HV has variable power standard, down to 1/16 power. You have to by the module for the 283 though.

The old 285 had variable power down to 1/16 as well.

Yep, my 285 came with the vari-power attached to the front sensor as original equipment.
