We have a white male Maine Coon, who's just turned a year and a half old. Recently he's shedded, excessivly, fur from oneside of his tail to the point where his skin is starting to show. Strangly the other side of his tail seems normal as does the rest of his coat. Has anyone experienced this before or got any advise ?

i have two mc myself. one has a nasty habit of ripping her hair out of certain places when she is stressed. like if i go away for a weekend i will come home to see hair chunks everywhere. have you seen him ripping at it at all? if so the easiest and cheapest thing to do is rub a little of whatever he doesn't like on that spot. vaseline works great
