Just as an FYI, HP just released three new photo printers. The HP PhotoSmart 1000, PhotoSmart 1100, and PhotoSmart 1100xi. Apparently these things do up to 2400 dpi, and the 1100 series uses Thermal Inkjet Technology.

So...

a) Does anyone know if the 1100 series printer's footprint is as big as the original PhotoSmart printer? b) Can someone explain exactly what Thermal InkJet is? c) Does anyone know if the 1100 series will print larger than 8x10 as with Epson's 1200?
