Let's see... my first autograph was from Danny Manning - which isn't too exciting since I live in Lawrence and he was on the KU basketball team. Who else? Everclear, Josephine Wiggs (ex-bass player for the Breeders), Luscious Jackson, Garbage (I waited out back of the venue they were playing for about 4 or 5 hours until they came out - I wasn't old enough to get in), Showoff, Frogpond, Less Than Jake, Kay Hanley of Letters to Cleo, the bass player of Seven Year Bitch, the lead singer of Reel Big Fish, the lead singer of Blink 182 (the name of which I should remember) - all of these and I still haven't gotten the one autograph I really want. I gotta meet Natalie Merchant! I just gotta! Oh, and Goldfinger too, but Natalie's been a quest of mine for a lot longer.:) Oh, and I'd love to AOL Instant Messenger and/or ICQ with you Chrissy, just email me if ya want.

Uh . . . when I was about 9 or 10 I got the autographs of most of the "Road to Avonlea" cast. Woohoo. Actually, that's a Canadian show so the rest of you probably have no idea what a geeky accomplishment that is.

Sadly, I've never been drunk at a concert, and alcohol really is the only thing that makes me gutsy enough to approach people for that sort of thing.

Personally, I've never seen the point. I did get Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood to sign CDs (which I then promptly gave to my Dad, since I don't listen to country music)...and I met Ashley Judd here in town. Of course, with Ashley, it wasn't her signature I wanted...

Last year, I met Monty Python's Michael Palin and got his autograph at a book signing in downtown Chicago. Really nice guy, too. He was promoting his first novel, Hemingway's Chair. The autograph was pretty simple (To Ben: Michael Palin), but there were a few hundred people there and he had to finish by two o'clock.
