We would like to have a Maine Coon kitten. We are not specific on color or pattern - we would like to find a cattery near Omaha and go pick one out. We are not planning to bread or show the cat. It will be a pet. We had to put our cat to sleep - he was one month from his 19th birthday. We have taken good care of him and will do the same with our next cat.

Try MCBFA at http://www.mcbfa.org/members/ I'm sorry to hear of your loss. They are family. No one ever gets replaced but there is a void only a cat can fill. I have 1 MC I got as a kitten and 1 MC I have had a year as a "retiree" from a breeding program. Older MC's are playful and adapt well. If someone offers you an older MC as company for your kitten--I can tell you from experience it is wonderful!
