Well this is a real shot in the dark but perhaps using a smart media reader you could bring back the file. I know you can format memory cards with the readers. Maybe a file restoration utility would be able to find the files again. I'm sure Powerquest makes something to restore files. If you already shot new pictures over the old ones, forget it. Hopefully you haven't used the card again. Good luck. This might be physically impossible to do but it's an idea. Surely nothing the camera can do, can bring these files back.

if you still need help, i have written an application to recover lost images. i recovered about 170 pics from the card and and lost three.
