I know there must be an easy answer to this question but I can't seem to figure it out. I think that my CP 950 is set to take pictures at its max resolution but I'm not sure how to tell. I would like to take lower resolution pics for posting on the internet and also to save memory but I don't know how to adjust the settings. Can anyone help me out?

There are 9 settings that you can make to vary the number of pictures you can get on the card. I have a 32 meg card and I made a little chart to help me remember the approximate # of pictures at each setting:

no msg XGA VGA 1600x1200 1024x786 640x480 Hi 6 -- -- Fine 32 74 196 Normal 64 153 393 Basic 126 306 786

The 640x480 basic setting will provide the smallest file image and will load the fastest on the net.

Hi is no compression and can only be done in manual mode. Fine is with little or no loss in image quality. Normal is with some loss in image quality. Basic is less quality.

Try each of the different settings and see what you like.

To get the quality to change, turn the lcd on with the icons showing, press down the 'qual'(6) button and turn the rotary dial(20) on the front of the camera. The number reference the picture in the one page Fast Track Guide.

It takes quite a bit of study to find all of the buttons. It is harder when you have a dozen people waiting for you take pictures!

I have tried to take pictures of the resevoir with the exposure locked 3 times and failed to remember where the butons were each time. I can find them at home, but I forget on location. I'll just keep trying. The water does not mind waiting for me.
