Juat bought Cannon A-50 installed all included software, bought Memorex PCF100 card reader. Vendor said it would read and write flash cards.Have managed to download images from card in reader to computer. Now how do I erase card so it ready to go when I put it back in camera.

If you can view the contents in Windows Explorer, you should be able to do a format. But, from what I understand, the camera won't be able to use the card until you format it with the camera because the formatting is performed differently on the PC and the camera can't read it.

The Nikon card reader software works in Explorer and you delete images the same you delete files. Simply select them and hit the delete button.
