My newly purchased MX2700 has a problem.

Sometimes (randomly, about 1 out of 10 or 20 times) when it is turned on, it gets halfway through the startup sequence then shuts down (just after the LEDs cycle, before the lens cover opens). When this happens, it also resets the flash setting (sets it back to "normal" if it was set to "forced" or "suppressed").

It only happens when on battery power with the Mode dial set to Normal (Auto) mode.

I returned the camera because of this problem, but the replacement I just received also has the problem.

Is any one else having this problem or know of a cure?
