Decent Download Software for Fuji MX-700greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread |
I have a FujiFilm MX-700 camera that I bought in Aug 98 - the 1.3M pixel one. The software that came with it to download the images to my PC was really awful. It uses Adobe Photo Deluxe 2.0 and Fuji's Twain drivers, but only allows me to download one image at a time. If I do try to download more than one image, then it only saves the last one that gets downloaded. What a pain! There must be some software package I can use where I can say "go and download all the images from the camera" and it just gets on with it using the standard serial connection (even if it takes 30--60 minutes). Can anyone out there recommend something, and what internet site can I download the application from?

Sorry I can not help you with the Fuji but the Nikon 950 software turns the compact card into a disk drive. You use Windows Explorer to more pics between the camera and the hard drive. If you move the card from the camera into a reader, 32 meg of pictures can moved to a hard drive in less than 2 minutes. Perhaps faster since there is a point that I really don't care.Using the serial port took several minutes per picture. When I was using the serial port, I had to replace the modem with the camera. In the past when I switch devices using one port, windows would argue with me. I try to avoid this.

I'll have to check, but I believe the problem lies with PhotoDeluxe 2.0 and EZPhoto. I've noticed the same issue when making automatic mutiple scans into PhotoDeluxe...EZPhoto won't wait for me to type in a saved name and continues with scanning there losing the previous scan. Anyway, the new MX-1200 comes bundled with PhotoDeluxe 3.0. You can use the SHIFT or CTRL keys to select some or All of your camera images and they are ALL automatically acquired into separate document windows within PhotoDeluxe, and no more automatic JPGing via EZPhoto the way it was setup in v2.0.Also, an excellent graphic editor is Ulead PhotoImpact 5.0. Download a 15-day fully functional demo from their web site HTTP://WWW.ULEAD.COM and see if that suites your needs!
