I am looking for any and all info I can get on my family's background. My Grandfather was Mumpford Jonah Love and he was born in about 1880-1890's and he served in the army in WW1. He married my grandmother, Bertha Wallace (Love), who was born in 1905 or '06. They had 3 children, Vann Wallace Love, Dorothy Love (Munn), and my father, James Mumpford Love (1931), all born in or around Stanley county. I know my grandfather came from a large family and he was one of the youngest. One of his brothers was a lawyer, and one was a doctor, whom everyone called Doc Love. There was a Tom Love and Macon Love also mentioned as family. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated!! Patty Davidson, 3578 Davidson Drive, Kershaw, SC 29067

I have a Mumpford P. Love, son of Jonah A. Love. Is this Mumpford related to yours? I don't have a wife or children for my Mumpford Love. Many thanks, Jane

Seems as if your grandfather,Mumford is a brother to my mother, Minnie Anne Love. Would you like to correspond?

Check cemetery at Love's Chapel UMC on Love's Chapel Rd in Stanfield. I recall seeing a gravestone there with the name Mumpford Love on a recent visit(near the driveway). This is not my family line.
