I stuck to trails as much as I could on this leg. Part of my strategy for the Possum Trot was to save energy when I could. One good way to save energy is to stick to trails. It also didn't look to me like going straighter could save much time (if any).

When I punched at seven, Mook was just ahead of me. I lost sight of him quickly. When I reached eight, Fritz was just punching.
