My wife and I have had problems with image transfers. Our main problem is getting a broad 1 to 1 1/2 inch horizontal band the full width of not only any transfer we try but with a straight print also. The band appears as orange (presumably unprocessed or unexposed) on a print with the sides looking correctly exposed and processed. We're using 669 and (originally) a Vivitar slide printer. We bought a Daylab Jr. as we thought it may have been something to do with the Vivitar but the same thing happens....

We're obviously doing something wrong but we can't work out what. We're left feeling dumb and perplexed.....

Can anyone help us ?

Just a suggestion as I read posts of those trying image transfers for the first time while also using a slide printer for the first time. This is how I knew I was doing the transfer process correctly in itself; I found a few old Polaroid cameras (440, 320, etc.) and did a transfer utilizing the cameras first. Yes.. the photos are limited in composition, but I knew I had the actual transfer process down first, before introducing a slide printer, exposures, etc. Hope this helps. The old polaroids can be found in thrift shops for next to nothing. If you don't get an image on the camera, check the battery.

pull the white tab out all the way before you pull the film out. you are seeing an impression of the tab.
