Hi, i have a pentium 75 mhz computer with a 6.4 hardrive and a external zip, i also have a cannon 600 scanner. I'm thinking of buying the olympus 2000z. But i'm not sure if i should invest in a new computer. At the moment i can only afford one computer or camera. TKS for your reply

While it may be a bit pokey - your 75 mhz Pentium should work pretty well for you. I assume you will be able to update your computer in a year ... and so I recommend you go for the camera. If you update the computer - then when you can afford a camera your question may once again be valid.
You should take your available money and budget for a camera and some additional memory and perhaps a new video board. You didn't state how much RAM you have - but if it's less than 64Meg then you should add that at the same time. You'll be able to handle images much better with more RAM on you P75 (you'll actually notice it works faster for other things as well).
If the money still holds out - then also budget about $100 for a new graphics (video) card. Get the best one you can - this investment will also help your P75 work much faster. Don't spend more than about $100 since you will want to upgrade the PC in a year or so. $100 gat get you a pretty decent video card today.
At 75 mhz you should try to use slightly older versions of software (such as Photoshop 4.0) as most of the new stuff has been incented by Intel to burn CPU cycles doing things people like you and me don't need done.
Getting the camera will also expand your horizons - allow you to do something new.
