In 1962, First Lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kenneday accepted an invitation by Prime Minister Nehru to visit India.

In early 50s, Jackie Kennedy began her carrier as a photographer for a Washington newspaper, and earned the nickname of "The Inquiring Camera Girl "

Jackie knew all about camera equipments. What camera was most appropriate for the occasion ? Minox. Jackie and her sister decided each carried a Minox 8x11 caemra to India for the visit.

In the book "Jack and Jackie" by Christopher Andersen, plate 40 shows Jackie and sister riding an elephant in India. The follow plate 41, shown Jackie sitting at the front door of the Pink Palace, opposite to John Kenneth Galbraith, then ambasador to India. Jackie Kennedy was holding a Minox camera in upright position with both hands, her right index finger on the shutter release, shooting back at the press corp, Ike style.

The Minox camera probably was a Minox B (1958-64)

The whereabout of this Minox camera is unknown.
