I have a dark room in my house. At school my teacher pre-mixes the developer. Then when we get it we mix it again with water. can someone tell me the exact way to mix my chemicals? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Ican't wait to get started, on enlarging my negatives. :)

Hi Pam,

Film and paper developers will dilute differently, but basically you just read the mixing instructions on the package and follow 'em! That gives you what's called "stock" solution. The stock solution is then diluted as needed, as you did in class. For film you might dilute it with an equal amount of water (1:1), and for paper it might be one part developer to two parts water (1:2) like Kodak Dektol. If you're using Kodak film, look inside the box and you'll find developing instructions printed on the cardboard. They should give the proper dilution of stock solution there.
