Ok Computer

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

This is a bit offtopic. I finally got Radiohead's "Ok Computer" a few months back (an absolute masterpiece, no one should be without it) and I noticed that some of the choral arrangements seemed very Flux-ish. "Exit Music", for instance. The first chorus has a bunch of cellestial-sounding backup voices that keep changing pitch in a mechanical kinda way. The high note by the female (?) singer at the end of the chorus sounds eerily similar to some of Neumann's 3rd season music. And there is a lot of electronic experimentation on that album that just sorta brings AF to mind. I dunno. The vocal bits of AF background music kinda remind me of the "2001: A Space Odyssey" score, too. Anyway... while I'm rambling nonsensically, I'm curious... what kinds of music do you guys listen to?

Manic Street Preachers, Metallica, The Wildhearts. Anything heavy really with some depth.

the Doctor Who theme circa 1975 rocks with unwavering force! right now it's the remixes of Kraftwerk's "Tour de France", Somatic Responses, later Deee-Lite, Funkdoobiest, old-school Metallica, and a certain soundtrack to a certain television show. and i always gotta rep Beastie Boys, Beck, early Cypress Hill, and the first five albums by The Moody Blues

My favorites are Bjork, Underworld, Massive Attack, Portishead, and Tricky. I also like Radiohead.

I listen mainly to the band KMFDM. But i like a lot of techno, and industrial. If there are any KMFDM fans on here, mail me if you want to talk.

I love techno, electro, psychedelic trance, & rock. My favorite band, though, is Rush, circa 1975-85 when they were GREAT. Has anyone heard their song "2112"? It sounds like a description of Bregna, particularly that "Temples of Syrinx" part. Rush was popular at around the same time Peter Chung was in high school, hmmm...

lots of jungle, Bjork, D'Angelo, Sade, Jamiroquai, *NSync, Slant6, Portishead, Helium, Maxwell, anything with a funky/jazzy/r&b-ish feel to it, Tribe Called Quest..tons of other stuff.

Peace.

2112 sounds interesting just to hear a song that seems to describe Bregna.
