Is there a wave recorder that will record to a new file when it detects a silence (of set duration/amplitude)? This would be a handy utility for separating tracks from an audio tape for recording to CD-R.

Adaptec's Easy CD Creator claims it can do this. It comes with about four sound utility programs. This isn't the program you burn CD's from. It is another utility that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head.

I have used it and it works okay. Depends on how much noise is between tracks. You can't set a duration/amplitude setting.
