Lucy!

Are we absolutely sure Lucy will die? It is so sad. I understand she wants to leave the show and move on and that is fine, but to see her have such a terrible day and then die so tragically, when all she ever wanted was to help people..it kills me!

I have heard several different times that she would be killed off violently, so I assume she will die. Noah Wyle just signed a new contract so he will live.

I do so agree with you. I think it's so sad that she has to leave the show like that. Man last nights episode just totally stunned me. I actually cried. First it was so sad and then it ends with such a bang. I still can't get it out of my head. I'm sort of looking forward to next week but I'm really gonna miss Kellie Martin. I think she did a good job portraying Lucy Knight. I hope they get that psycotic scum.......Kreepy!!!!

I think Kellie Martin should either reconsider leaving her role, or ER writers should reconsider her exit. Lucy has potential to become a great character if they would just try!!!! I don't see why they can't give her some life!!!!

I had heard Kellie was leaving due to the lack of interest in her character!!

If I were a write on ER I wouldn't kill her like that, I would let her live but be so disturbed by the event that she would be forced to leave the Hospital and move or something. I think that it's kinda mean for the writers to have us feel this way about poor lucy. thousands of people are seriously messed up now because of this. that music didn't help much either. There are rumours that Weaver will come back on to her shift next week and end the party so that the doctors can get back to treating new and old patients. After she does this someone will need to use the "room from hell", and find Carter and Lucy there. I hope that the killer is out of the room by then so that no one else dies.

With this episode, which I just watched today, I was beginning to feel like the Omar Epps character, can't remember his name, and his unfortunate run ins with Peter Benton. Carter had begun to behave in ways that he absolutely despised in Benton and the end was Lucy being hurt, and possibly killed. She attempted to get his attention and was ignored. I'm not sure that I like the way this thing is going to turn out. Lucy is an intelligent woman, a fine doctor and has quite a bit to offer to the staff of ER. Her character should have a more gallant exit, because her goal in medicine was to help people. I'm left with more questions than answers on this one.

Kellie Martin asked to be written off the show so she can move to NY to live with her lawyer husband. I'm not sure if her exit was the producer's way of saying, "don't try to come back on the show" or the show's way of making her exit memorable. Either way, I'm definately tuning in next week. I'll miss Lucy Knight. I think the title of next week's episode should have been "do not go gently into that good Knight".
