From the preview, can anyone tell.......greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread |
.......who is on the receiving end of the CPR being adiministered by Luka? Or at least I think it was Luka. You can't see the patient, but wasn't Luka working on Carter the whole time? Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew if Carters heart stops while they are trying to save him or what. Also, in the preview, does it appear to everyone else that Lucy seems fine? I'm sure the writers are toying with us, to me it looked like she was sitting up and fine, although there was a breathing tube in her throat. I know Ms. Martin is leaving the show, but still. Just a few questions, feel free to toss in some responses, thanks all. Can't wait for next weeks ep!Phantom

Luke is working on Carter.I have watched the preview frame-by-frame. In an earlier scene Kerry, Benton, and Dave are working on Lucy. Therefore Luka and Green are working on Carter. Also, I saw another preview where Carter was being wheeled into the Trauma room before Green arrives back and it's very clear that he's attending to Carter. He (Luka) states that Carter is unresponsive and his pulse is weak.

Also looks like Lucy is as white as a ghost (no pun intended!:) I think the producers will toy with ur emotions and have her pull through only to flatline at the end of that episode....then the next week, she's probably on life support or something and her parents will have to make decision to take her off of it. (Just a prediction!) Or maybe she recovers and comes to realize that she cannot work in the hospital due to post traumatic stress...who knows! :)

From a clip I saw, Luka, Abby, Jing-Mei, and a red-haired nurse were working on Carter, while Kerry, Dave, and Chuny were with Carter. I don't recall seeing Mark, Peter, Carol, or Elizabeth. I thought Lucy was lying on a gurney in the preview; maybe it just looked like she was sitting up because the camera was pointed down on her face.

Lucy had that look as if she was heading "toward the light," if that makes any sense. She looked like she was seeing everything around her and it would be only seconds before she was gone. That was just the feeling I got ...

The previews show Lucy conscious and alert with a breathing tube in her neck. It's the same kind Christopher Reeve has. My guess is that she's either paralyzed and will be sent to a rehab facility, or she'll die and leave Carter to struggle with the burden of guilt and remorse for the rest of the season. Either way, Carter will come through it more sensitive and caring than ever before.

There is also a shot of Benton looking down at Lucy and saying something to the effect of "we're taking care of you honey". Presumably that's not Carter, since he definitely used the word "honey" and presumably Lucy is at least briefly conscious, since the shot is from her perspective.

...actually, I think Benton is looking down on Carter and says, I'm right here, hang in there, and he's with the red head nurse and to me it looks like they are in the elevator, most likely on the way up to surgery. But that's just my take from the clip. Also in the preview, you can here Luka going oh my God, look at this, look at this, so, make of that what you want I guess, he says it as they show a clip of Green. Sigh, 3 nights to go, can we make it gang? :)Phantom

Phantom ... I'm not sure I can wait! Talk about a cliff-hanger. The funny thing is, we pretty much know Lucy will die and Carter will live ... yet I can't wait to see it!I kind of hope they do have Lucy die and not be hooked to machines/paralyzed the rest of her life. But, that is just me. If they are going to write her out, they should do it all the way, IMHO.

When Kellie was on Regis and Kathie Lee, she said that she'd finished production the day before, and judging by how long they shoot before the ep airs, I'd guess she'll hang on for a couple of weeks.

NBC has been trying to put in the previews every time they can. I've only watched NBC for about thirty minutes since the episode and seen it twice. I agree that Benton is working on Carter, it makes more sence. Also from them it they make it appear like Lucy is doing fine, or at least better than Carter. They've certainly put together a cryptic preview. Definately Weaver finds them, she shouts and looks like she'll faint.

Actually, I think the previews have been pretty confusing on that point (that is, on who Luka is giving chest compressions to), which plays a role in increasing suspense leading into the next episode. I thought, too, that since Luka was working on Carter in the "wild feed" promo, it must be Carter's heart that stops at some point. Someone on the alt.tv.er newsgroup, however, pointed out something very interesting. Carter is being cared for in the green trauma room, while Lucy is in the yellow trauma room. With that in mind, you can see in the NBC preview that Luka is actually doing chest compressions on Lucy because he is in the yellow room. Mighty good detective work in that newsgroup; I never even noticed!

Hmmm, good call Deborah. See, to me it looked like the compressions were being made out in the hallway, but I didn't think to look at the room colors, very interesting. I'll have to pay attention to that when I see the preview again. Damn, we are all picking apart the previews here trying to figure out what's going to happen! Are we anxious or what? LOL! Carter didn't look to swell on the gurney when they were moving him down the hall, on his way to surgery I assume. I guess, when it comes down to it, we'll all know the whole story in THREE VERY LONG DAYS! We are getting there folks, hang in there!Phantom

Not sure I agree with those who say Lucy looks "fine" (and she isn't sitting up, she's lying on a gurney). She looks like she's on her way out to me. . . and I do hope she dies, not because I hate her or anything, but because that would just really seem like chickening out on the writers' part if they kept her alive. Also, I'm pretty sure it was Benton working on Carter, which (I think) means Luka was with Lucy.

I think that Luka was doing those compressions on Lucy. I watched the preiview again after reading about the colors of the trauma rooms, and also, you see the Asian nurse( i forget her name). IN the wild footage package, she is in with Kerry and Dr. Dave working on Lucy. Also, Benton is definately working on Lucy in the beginning--you can see him over her in one shot. but here is what i think happens, and this tranfser of people is conusing everyone. Luka, Deb, Abby and the red hiar nurse(can't remmber her name either) are working on Carter in the beiginning. Cr. Dave, Kerry, and the Asian nurse are working on Lucy. Benton comes down to help with Lucy. Then, because Carter is more stabilized, Benton and the red haired nurse take him up to surgery, leading to the "hang in ther, i'm right here" scene. While they are goe, Lucy starts crashing, and Luka and greene, who has just arrived, go in to work on Lucy. just a thought--this is driving me insane. I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THURSDAY!
