See this thread for an attempted "outing" of an anonymous poster. Wasn't this one of the TERRIBLE CRIMES for which the sysops of the old board roundly castigated? But I guess it's different if the person supposedly being "outed" is a "doomer". Right?

I read the post you are referring to and could find no suggestions of censorship or demands of deletion or crys of ban this troll. It looked like some nameless individual decided to take CPR to task and the expected discourse resulted. What I did find interesting was the suggestion that this nameless poster might be the mini-mind hisself, Steve Heller. Even so there will be no censorship or deletions, showing that even a nauseous loser like him is allowed to post his drivel unrestrained. We should expect folks like Heller to slither over here on a regular basis, in drag of course.

You are incorrect on so many levels:

1) Whoever is attempting the "outing" may or may not be a "sysop." It appears to be someone making a guess. Are you saying that people should not be allowed to make guesses here? Is that it? Is guessing now a CRIME??

2) Whoever is making a guess is just some person making a guess, not the Representative of All That Make Up This Forum. Are you saying that every comment that you don't like is immediately representative of ALL views on this forum? Would you feel better if people chastised the guesser, or would that not be enough? Perhaps you would only be satisfied if the guesser were to be DELETED because he/she had the NERVE to MAKE A GUESS??

Or are you upset because somebody may have guessed correctly?

The person proposing this in the thread to which you point IS NOT a moderator. Is it censorship to state that one thinks Steve Heller is posting as none@none.none......or whatever it is? [To be honest, I think it's Steve myself...the arguments are the same, and another thread regarding CPR's Christianity has ONLY ever been mentioned to this extent by Steve.]

What does this have to do with censorship? It's idle speculation.

Or even one like you. That's the wonder of "uncensorship"! However, I'll be happy to clarify my point. Why does ANYONE want to "out" an anonymous poster here? Wasn't the whole idea to have "Freedom of Speech", without the threats of "outing" or other "Controls"? Who can tell (other than the sysops, of course), who the anonymous "outer" is? Wouldn't the possibility of it being a sysop who posted that "outing" message put a damper on "Freedom of Speech"? I guess not, as long as the one being "outed" is a "doomer". Right?

Me thinks thou doth protest too much. What seems to be your real problem here? Because this is an open, uncensored forum, you will find all manner of suggestions posed by many different posters. Just because someone suggests an action doesnt mean that this is the forums dictate.

Example: I suggest that you are one of Hellers many personas and are here only to stir up trouble. Because you are a proven loser you should not be allowed to visit here with real humans.

Now, that is my input and has no bearing on the wishes of others or the guidelines of the forum. Get the picture?
