Response to Personal Reflection Papers By Vince Crary March 2000
I have enjoyed reading the mid-program reflection papers. In my mind, this exercise has been an eye-opener for us all.
To sit down and think about who I am and how I have become the person I am was something I had never done. To see how you have been influenced in your learning and development and how people learn in different ways has showed us all that we can be students and good students at that.
I think Melinda said it best when she wrote: "In the portfolio autobiography I wrote at the beginning of this program I stated that I thought I would probably learn more about myself as a result of my participation in the master's program, than anything else." I feel like Melinda: being able to better understand "me" has been a big step forward in my education. I also know I am a better Extension Educator due to being a student in the master's program. I was never sensitive to the way others learned. To be honest, I never thought about it. I do now.
The MEd. Program has been the best education I have experienced in my life. As a result, I feel much better about myself as a student and as an Educator.
